The Pet Vet Barnsley is an award-winning veterinary surgery with dog, cat and rabbit-friendly clinic accreditations. We're here for you & your pets every day of the week, with no surcharge for weekend appointments - even for unregistered customers. We're conveniently located off Wakefield Road, opposite Cookes Pet Supplies with plenty of free customer parking. Our knowledgeable, friendly team are experienced in treating all pets, including exotics. Our Veterinary Nurses can even visit you & your pet in the comfort of your own home with our NEW @ Home Vet Nurse Service.

Mihai is Barnsley's Head Vet, qualifying as a Veterinary Surgeon in Romania back in 2013. Mihai has a house full of pets including 3 snakes, 2 cats and a dog.

Ana graduated in Portugal in 2019 and came to the UK to start working as a vet under the new graduate scheme. She has a keen interest in exotics medicine. She enjoys going to the movies, reading and spending time with friends and family.

Veterinary Surgeon

Jacq has worked as a veterinary nurse/clinical manager for over 30 years in large animal, small animal and exotic animal practice. She's also taught animal sciences & management at university alongside her nursing career. Jacq is a bereavement counsellor and has also completed a qualification in veterinary physiotheraphy.

Head Nurse (Certificate in Physiotherapy and Bereavement)

Paige studied animal behaviour at university before travelling to Australia to find a love for working in animal healthcare. She qualified as an RVN in 2021 and her special interests lie in theatre and in-patient care, and helping to reduce stress to everyone’s fur babies in the vets.

Emma qualified in 2021 after training at The Pet Vet and came back to work with us as an RVN! She loves travelling with friends & family, and when she's not at work, you'll most likely find her out walking her lab Dexter!

Lorren started her nurse training with us in 2021. Outside of work, she spends a lot of her free time on the Yorkshire coast walking her dogs on the beach. Lorren also loves spending time with her pony, Ronnie.

Will worked in a mangement role for the coop for 10 years before moving over to the veterinary sector. He enjoys spending time with his family and cocker spaniels Podrick, Walter and Bessie.

The reception staff were really helpful and efficient booking our appointments. The vet was brilliant with our dog Monty who had a recent ear infection. She understood that we were more anxious than he was so she examined him away from us in the back room with a nurse to alleviate the anxiety. She explained his treatment clearly and told us the procedure step by step. I cannot recommend them enough.
