Team building, goal setting & fancy dress fun at The Pet Vet’s annual congress

The Pet Vet's annual congress 2024

The leadership team at The Pet Vet recently gathered for their annual congress, for a weekend of inspiring talks, team building and goal setting – with plenty of fun along the way!

Attendees included Chairman & Founder Dr Rob Jones MRCVS, CEO Dr Mel Fuller, the central support team and surgery management teams (Head Vets, Head Nurses and Customer Experience Managers).

What we covered

An enlivening introductory talk from Mel recapped on what has been achieved by our teams over the past year and The Pet Vet’s future goals & ambitions. Colleagues then enthusiastically launched into a series of team building exercises that prompted very lively conversation and highlighted some hidden talents! The keynote speaker for the day was inimitable Business Psychologist Sue Firth on the subject of understanding stress and building personal resilience, with plenty of insightful and practical takeaways.

The Pet Vet annual awards

In usual The Pet Vet style, the evening’s fancy dress theme of film or television characters showcased the creativity of the team, who also fully embraced the Taskmaster challenges and karaoke, which bookended the awards dinner. The Pet Vet’s annual awards celebrate the exceptional work that goes on across our group, where individuals and teams are recognised for their technical capability and as shining examples of living and breathing our founding values:

  • We care
  • Can do
  • Team first
  • Better every day

The weekend was thoroughly enjoyed by all colleagues, with 100% of those attending anonymously voting that they enjoyed the retreat, and took away useful information, insight and/or learnings for their personal and professional development.
